Quipster was founded in 2013 by three friends in Salzburg. What began as an experiment back then has developed into a real Austrian brand. Our drawings of unique, funny and slightly weird characters were the basis for a label that should inspire people and put a smile on their faces.

The hope for sustainable success came when we made small stands out of cardboard boxes and posters at local design markets to showcase our creations. These markets were valuable experiences as we were able to get to know our customers personally for the first time. There we also saw how our quipsters affected people - the smiling faces are our motivation to this day.

From the beginning it was important to us to work closely with our production company; not only to continuously improve our products, but also to guarantee responsible production. Our t-shirts are made by a manufacturer we know personally and visit regularly.

At the end of 2014 there was the opportunity to open a pop-up store in our hometown of Salzburg. Without hesitation, we took the opportunity and opened our first own boutique on Griesgasse in Salzburg. The success of the shop allowed us to develop Quipster into a bigger brand and so it took about another year until we opened our flagship store in Salzburg's Getreidegasse, followed by another shop in the heart of Vienna just a few months later.

Although the t-shirt was our core product from the start, there are now many other items that our Quipster figures wear. 

Something that started with a pen, a piece of paper and a dream is now a successful Austrian company. Today there are 4 Quipster shops in Austria. The diverse and international Quipster team consists of 16 employees and we ship from Austria to over 20 different countries around the world.
